What a week!! How do I fit all this excitement into one post?!?

I will do my best to keep it short but we have so many great moments to celebrate. 🥰

Tuesday Crew kicked off the festivities down at Jordan Beach picking up 24 bags of trash, Wednesday Crew hit 16 Mile Pond and a few parks in Beamsville with another 13 bags of trash, and then Thursday Crew met the lovely residents of Antwerp Street in St. Catharines who have trouble with winds blowing all their trash into the ravine down to 12 Mile Creek – and they picked up another 24 bags of trash!

BUT THEN…Tuesday Crew, in the spirit of friendly competition – could not let Thursday win…so a big shout out to our Tuesday Lead Patrick, who hit the streets Saturday afternoon and grabbed another 10 bags from his neighborhood in Fonthill!!!

Which brings us to EcoFest in Beamsville Saturday morning where we kicked off our parade with the lovely Raging Grannies for a performance about our planet and Niagara’s turtle species!

And then a few powerful songs with the Auntie Social Singers – an indigenous hand drum group who shared the stage with kids from the audience for drumming and songs for our water.

Thank you to our amazing performers – you brought the morning to life and set the stage for our turtle parade through the Fleming Center (due to some weather that kept us indoors).

We then had a visit from John and Vernah from the Rotary Club of Lincoln with another very generous donation to our club to help with all our spring projects! Thank you so much Lincoln Rotary!! We will stretch those funds far and wide and they will enhance our Kindergarten Garden Project, help stock supplies in our greenhouse, support our new community pantry and tool share program, and much more!!

Thank you so much to everyone who supported our club to make Earth Week a huge success! Community is what drives us, and our community really showed up this week!!
