This weekend The Green Herons were honoured to be a part of the launch for the Canadian Centre for Nature-based Education at the Museum of Nature in Ottawa. We are very proud to join the Canadian Wildlife Federation family, and can’t wait to see the change we will be able to create together.
Where do we begin?! 2025 has been a wild year for us and we are so grateful to all the partners in our community that help us accomplish our goals.
The need for community, connection, and action has never been more important. We are so honoured to be a part of this important movement, and so excited that it embraces the voices of our youth.
The kids have dedicated their fall video to Dr. Jane Goodall and released it at the event on Friday. Watch it here. (Volume UP!)

The Wild Minds, Bright Futures event was an incredible night filled with amazing performances, positive energy, wonderful VIP’s, and even a World Series victory – but drawing the prizes, and BEING the grand prize was a highlight. We are very proud of all of our Herons that joined us, shared what we do, and schmoozed with maturity beyond their years. A big shout out goes to Josephine Webb for doing an excellent job speaking on behalf of the club.

The universe has a way of making awesome things happen and we are so grateful for these wonderful additions to our community. Congratulations to Raven – who will be joining us for our Algonquin Park portage trip with CWF CEO Sean Southey. And a big shout out to Anice – who tracked us down while we were still in Ottawa, and was kind enough to donate her prize to our youth to help them with their projects.
We had a great time exploring Ottawa and are so very grateful for all the connections that we have made while we were here.

Together we CAN!
