Jordan Harbor 4.0

We always start this week hopeful that people can change…but its ok cause we got your back Niagara.

Congratulations to the youth that persevered this week through heat, mosquitoes, fish rot, baby diapers, and a whole lot of blood, sweat and tears. It took 3 days to clean up 16 mile pond and the north, east and west shorelines of the Jordan Harbor bridge. Their total count was 25 bags and 1 barrel.

This is our 4th clean up of the exact same area, and every 6 months, we play groundhog day as a commitment to keeping our backyards clean. We can only imagine how much has swept away into the bottom of our lake and wish that people would learn to be more responsible with our natural spaces.

Our youth will be out in canoes this weekend to haul all the bags over to an accessible shoreline for pickup. We thank the Niagara Rowing School, the NPCA, The Lincoln Rotary Club, and St. Catharines Home Depot for their support of this semi-annual event.

Thurs – 8 Bags

Please help by picking up trash that you find while enjoying outdoor spaces and watch the blog for an exciting announcement Saturday after our end of season graduation!!
