Habitat Dock Launched!!

Congratulations to Tuesday Crew who, with the help of the NPCA, launched their first turtle basking dock into 15 mile creek in a section that is lacking basking areas for turtles.

They collected natural driftwoods as a topper, and have floated the dock on PVC pipes to make sure it stays afloat.

Launch day was a great success and now we wait for sunny skies to record its use!! 🐢 ☀️

I acknowledge my role as a settler in this land on Turtle Island. I am grateful to be able to live and work on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, the Anishinaabeg, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and the Wendat Peoples. I recognize the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and the Inuit peoples. I recognize the injustices of colonization and how I, as a settler, have directly benefitted from a colonial culture that has overseen the genocide, systematic oppression, and exploitation of Indigenous peoples. I commit to working toward safe, inclusive, just, equitable and healthy communities for all.
